Supporting Children and Families in Crisis
The Jewish Family Centre is a not-for-profit community organisation, established in 2003 by Rabbi Yaakov Lieder, assisted by a group of mental health professionals.
The Jewish Family Centre provides support and direction for families and individuals in crisis.
Since its establishment, the Jewish Family Centre staff and volunteers have expanded their reach to New South Wales and Victoria, where they continue to assist individuals and families in crisis to create happier, more balanced and peaceful lives, enabling each child to reach his or her utmost potential.
Our mission is to support and create opportunities for families and individuals to help themselves and others.
HOW WE HELP
Food parcels for struggling families who can’t make ends meet
Sponsor children to attend camps
Financial assistance with back to school expenses for needy families
Providing support and relief for families with sick children
LETTER FROM A GRATEFUL RECIPIENT
25 June 2019
Thank you, Rabbi Lieder, not only for your financial help but also for the hour-long conversation on the phone tonight.
As we discussed, I am going through a major crisis with two of my children. There is so much running through my head right now and I don’t know what to do. At times I feel like giving up, and I say to myself, “Enough, I can’t do it anymore.”
Your active listening and valuable advice came at just the right time. You gave me hope and encouragement, and I now feel that I can continue being the mother my children so desperately need.
I will forever be grateful to you and to the entire team of the Jewish Family Centre.
